Meet D'Ambrosio

I’m Samantha D’Ambrosio, owner of D’Ambrosio LLC. I'm a SoCal native and alumni of the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in English. I'm currently based in Seattle, Washington.

I have worked as a professional writer since 2017 and began specializing in grant writing in 2023. Since then, I have helped clients secure more than $24 million through private, state, and federal funding opportunities, including programs administered by the U.S. Department of Justice, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the National Park Service. I also support clients after an award through grant reporting, compliance, and ongoing administration.

I have extensive experience working with cities, counties, special districts, and nonprofit organizations. My portfolio includes projects involving parks and recreation, economic development, law enforcement, fire protection and wildfire prevention, utilities, and workforce development. I have also developed funding proposals for programs serving youth, older adults, individuals with substance use and behavioral health needs, people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, low-income communities, and historically underserved populations.

In addition to working directly with clients, I have led grant-writing webinars in partnership with state legislators, chambers of commerce, and community organizations. These sessions introduce participants to the grant writing process: How to find applicable grant opportunities, resources for finding grants, different types of grants and what makes them different, how to develop a competitive proposal, and the responsibilities that follow an award.
